Two of the hottest names in UK house music Shadow Child and Ben Pearce have joined forces to create the incredible ‘Nothing Ever Hurts’ (two heads are better than one, amirite?) and the result is a whopper. With two bass-driven house gods at the helm, we are in capable hands as ‘Nothing Ever Hurts’ fuses light, airy vocals to a foundation of deep, Balearic beats, making it an enormous anthem we imagine you’ll be hearing a lot of this summer. Vocals are provided by newcomer Laurel, a Turn First artist and FKA twigs collaborator. What a mix.
Now for a bit of background on this dynamic duo: Shadow Child (AKA Simon Neale) first came to attention when he released his eponymous 2012 debut EP via Dirtybird. The EP’s lead track, ‘String Thing’ quickly found its way onto his label-mates sets and was an instant hit with club-goers (no surprises there). Subsequent releases on labels such as Moda Black and his own Food Music imprint have helped to cement his position at vanguard of the forward-thinking house scene. What a dude.
Ben Pearce has also been one of the UK’s busiest house acts since the massive success of his 2013 club smash “What I Might Do,” which quickly crossed over from underground hit to reaching No. 7 in the UK charts. Since then, Ben has continued to make amazing tunes and put out great music on his own record label and DJ agency, Purp & Soul, co-founded with Chris Farnworth.
